Mick’s art practice has primarily been focussed on large scale site specific outdoor sculpture works. A move to Kilkenny in 1985, introduced him to Kilkenny limestone which became his main medium for many years. Another move to Cork in 2010 and the establishment of Kilnagleary Studios with a bronze casting foundry has led to the combining of these two materials on many projects. Mick has a strong interest in exploring the qualities of materials and different processes for working them. His smaller works are based in natural forms, with a strong focus on surface texture and line.
